If you have a concern about care or services at Rivervale, please make the complaint in writing. Written complaints can be sent by email or post.
Putting the complaint in writing helps make sure the concern, the people involved, and the outcome requested are recorded clearly.
What to include
Please include:
- your name and contact details
- the resident’s name, where relevant
- what happened, or what you are concerned about
- when it happened, if there is a specific date or period
- any outcome you are seeking

How complaints are handled
Written complaints are acknowledged within 2 working days.
The complaint is then reviewed, investigated where needed, and concluded as soon as possible. A response is issued no later than 30 working days after receipt.
If you are dissatisfied with the outcome, you can request a review. Reviews are concluded as soon as possible, and no later than 20 working days after the review request is received.
External routes
If you are not satisfied with how a complaint has been handled, the Office of the Ombudsman can consider complaints about nursing home services.
You can also report a concern or give feedback to HIQA. HIQA regulates nursing homes in Ireland and uses information about services to inform its monitoring and inspection work.
